Chance was found wandering along with a snare trap tightly embedded around his body. Once abandoned by the family he trusted, he quietly watched people and dogs pass by, never following, never asking. At some point during his lonely time on the streets, he became caught in a snare, which slowly cut into his body, causing severe pain and tissue damage. By the time Chance was rescued in Gimcheon, his injuries had already worsened, but he endured everything in silence. WEACT gave him the name Chance, a promise that he would never be left behind again. Though his past was filled with fear and pain, Chance is now learning that life can be gentle and that love can be something he no longer has to be afraid of. Overall, Chance is a sweet, resilient boy who enjoys people and builds strong bonds with those he trusts. He has made wonderful progress in gaining confidence and navigating new experiences. While he may seem a little timid at first, he is simply thoughtful and cautious, preferring to take his time before deciding that a new person or situation is safe. Once comfortable, he happily shows his affectionate side with tail wags and warm greetings. The type of homewhether an apartment or a housedoes not matter to Chance. When Chance feels anxious, he may try to hide, so it is important that the home provides safe spaces where he cannot get trapped or attempts to escape. As he is capable of jumping up to about 1.5 meters, any yard, balcony, or potential exit should be securely managed with proper safety measures to prevent accidents. Chance gets along well with other dogs, but rather than seeking constant play, he is content spending time on his own. For this reason, having another dog in the home is not a must. Once living in the shadows of fear toward people, Chance is now taking steady steps into the warmth of love. Though his progress may not be fast, he never stops moving forward. His consistent growth and strong inner resilience make him a truly wonderful companion. Chance is patiently waiting for his forever familyone that is ready to build deep trust and lasting love with him, step by step.
