My story

Rodney is gentle, soft, and impossible not to fall in love with. From the adorable little hairs between his toes to his tiny purrs and chirps, he has a way of quietly stealing your heart. When Rodney grows to trust you, he is gentle and sweet. He loves to watch the world go by from a window, sit on a carpet while he watches you from a distance, or curl up in a warm spot away from any chilly breezes. He loves his new life as an inside cat and is happiest when things around the home are calm. He also loves self-motivated playtime, and loves to bat plastic springs around at night.Rodney has a sensitive soul, and if spooked by his fosters, he doesn’t claw, bite or hiss - he just gives a sad little mew. Once he feels comfortable, he loves to be pet and be fed treats. He’ll walk up to you to give your hand little headbutts, and he loves to close his eyes and make little swimmer paws while you scratch his neck. You`ll fall in love with his little purrs and chirps while he digs his head into your hand. He also loves to be brushed with a hairbrush.Rodney is the perfect cat for someone who wants to build a deep bond in a calm home. He may need patience at first, but the reward is a sweet, gentle companion who will trust you in his own quiet, beautiful way. Rodney is looking for a peaceful home where he can continue enjoying the safe, cozy indoor life he has come to love.Rodney can be adopted as the only cat in the home but we think he may do well with a well-socialized friend.Rodney has arthritis which is managed by a monthly injection that can be given by a veterinarian or veterinary technician. He currently takes a small amount of pain/anxiety medication mixed into wet food twice a day. He has had most of his teeth pulled. He takes his care in stride and is very worth the little bit of extra support he requires. He is up-to-date on vaccines and has been treated for fleas and parasites. He is FIV+ and feline leukemia negative. Cats with FIV can live a long and happy life. You can read more about FIV on our website here: https://annexcatrescue.ca/the-happy-truth-about-fiv-cats/

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Rodney, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
