"Growing up in NYC, I wasn't surrounded by many animals, but I was always a dog person. I knew that once I got older, I would want to have a dog in my family," says our newest board member, Elliott Francis.
Our family adopted Gus on February 14, 2016. He was approximately 2 years old, and we were told there wasn't much history on this dog, only that he had been bounced around in "no kill" shelters. We adopted him as a friend for our other dog, Kona.
Basant knew that moving to the United States for school would be a big undertaking, both culturally and emotionally. She had a history of depression in the past and the new changes in her life instigated her depression again.
