My story

Hello adopters, my name is Gemstone a 2-year-old mixed breed female cutie who has a compact body, short hair and engaging thoughtful eyes and I am ready to be rescued. I am playful, happy, enjoy being outside, playing fetch, cuddling, getting rubs, and my smile will light up your heart. I walk well on a leash and am looking to form a connection with a kind and soft person to call my very own.I was found as a stray, and I don’t remember much of my past, so I am feeling scared. Since shelter life is very new to me, I am shy, people and dog selective. Being shy means that I need a little time to feel safe and learn how to trust again. If you have a mellow dog at home that could be a good guide and life buddy for me, bring them along for our `meet and greet`. The shelter plans on giving me all the time I need to decompress until I find and bond with my new family!I would do best in a patient home that understands my need to go at my own pace. With slow movements and a gentle, soft voice, you’ll start to see my walls come down. I would do well in a quieter home where my humans are consistent and predictable.I am spayed, microchipped and up-to-date on vaccines and house broken.Come and meet this gem of a pup so you can start to teach me tricks as a belly rub sounds really great.
