My story

I’m Millie, a pretty, cool looking, goofy, joyful, and young at heart female 5-year-old terrier mix. I have a big, happy spirit and stunning two-tone colorful eyes, and we’ll turn heads when we walk in your neighborhood. I am smart, friendly, curious, like leash walks, and I`m eager to please my humans. I can be shy at first as I have been at the shelter for 1 ½ years, but I am learning that people are safe and kind. Toys, toys and more toys, I like playing with toys of all kinds and sizes. My energy comes in small, short bursts and after a bit of fun I love to have my floppy ears scratched. I yearn for companionship and can’t wait to return to the life I had before. I need to be the only dog in your home as I have had little to no experience living with another dog. Older kids may be okay so bring them with you when you come for a meet and greet. I thrive on being with people that are fun and comfortable to be around.I hope you have an outside area where I can stretch my legs and play with you and my toys, as being outside is comforting and so much fun. I can’t wait to share regular walks and explore the bigger world around me. I am a fast learner and have responded well to training with staff at the shelter as I learn basic commands and stay focused. My rescuer needs to help me develop everyday doggie skills and perhaps a high five trick. I need patience, love, and more training than shelter staff have time to provide, and I know I will relax a lot once away from this stressful shelter noise. For my part I will add laughter, entertainment, love and joy to your home. I am spayed, microchipped and current on all my vaccinations and house broken.I have been overlooked at the shelter as folks seem to want puppies, but I want a chance to find my one forever home…. that’s my dream!
