Born into a crowded shelter housing over 1,600 dogs, he spent four long years waiting patiently for a chance at a better life. In early 2024, that chance finally came. Youngsil was rescued and brought to Canada where he has been living with a loving foster family ever since. About Youngsil Youngsil is brave, resilient, and determined to learn—even when he’s scared. And he’s such a fast learner! We’ve seen and trained a lot of dogs, and Youngsil is one of the smartest. But Youngsil wasn’t always the happy, easy-going dog he is now. After all, he lived in a dog prison for the first four years of his life. He didn’t know how to be a “normal dog.” When he first arrived, everything frightened him: being touched, getting a harness on, baths, being brushed, being left alone—even simple affection. Despite being potty-trained, he would have accidents when overwhelmed with anxiety. But with patience and love, he’s made incredible progress.
