My story

Say hello to George, a 5-year-old Great Pyrenees mix who defines the phrase gentle giant. With his calm demeanor, soulful eyes, and loving nature, George is the kind of dog who brings comfort just by being near. George is neutered, fully vetted, and house trained—a true grown-up gentleman ready to settle right into your home and heart. George gets along with just about everyone he meets, having experience living with both other dogs and children. He’s the kind of dog who will keep a watchful eye over the backyard, nap by your feet, and gently nuzzle in for affection. True to his Great Pyrenees roots, George is naturally protective of his people—not in an aggressive way, but in a calm, guardian-like manner. He thrives in a loving home where he can relax, be part of the family, and offer the care and devotion he’s so eager to give. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will love your family as his own, George is ready to be your steadfast friend, gentle protector, and loving shadow. Adopt George—because every home deserves a heart this big. Since many of our adoptable dogs are in foster homes, appointments are highly recommended to ensure the animal you are interested in is currently at the shelter. Please call or e-mail the shelter to set up an appointment to meet and adopt! Our adoption fees include the following: all of our dogs/puppies are current on vaccinations (DHPP and Rabies if over 3 months of age) at the point of adoption, dewormed, heartworm tested and current on preventative, microchipped, treated for fleas/ticks and are spayed or neutered. Our large dog adoption fee is generally $175 + tax. Our small dog and puppy adoption fee is generally $275+ tax. Adoption fees may vary in special circumstances. Due to space limitations, we do not hold dogs. Because we are on a busy street, we require that all dogs leaving the shelter be in a carrier or on leash. All pets remain up for adoption until an approved application is processed and their adoption fee paid.
