Mike Tyson is the shy and sensitive type – he’s a medium sized 4-year old dog who is looking for the perfect match. Since coming to the shelter as a stray, Mike Tyson has appeared nervous in his new surroundings. He’s alert to loud noises and sudden movements – he’s taking in this new and foreign place. Mike Tyson has shown that he loves treats and that may just be the key to his heart. Thus far, he hasn’t shown much interest in toys and in dog playgroup he was tolerant but avoidant. Could you show Mike Tyson the love and patience he needs to thrive? Come to ACCT and meet him today! ACCT is open every day from 10am to 6pm. Videos: Behavior Notes: Volunteer 6/21/25: When I approached the kennel, Mike Tyson was standing with his front legs on the bars. He had soft eyes. I opened the kennel door and he hopped down. I was able to easily slip the lead over his head and he popped out of the kennel. Walking through the kennels, MT was quite dodgey. He was bumping into me and bouncing around looking at the various dog. His ears were back and he was stiff. He was very hyper vigilant. Once outside, MT walked well on leash. He only pulled moderately at times. Outside, MT continued to have stiff body language. He has a mid level wag but wagged infrequently. He was drooling and had bubbles coming from his mouth. He spoked when a truck came by and made a loud noise. In the yard, he mostly sniffed. He allowed me to pet him all over but his eyes were wide and he was doing some lip licking. He seems very food motivated but can be snatchy at time so best to toss him a treat! Inside the volunteer office, I offered and showed MT various toys, he didn’t seem interested and did not take possession. He continued to be mostly interested in getting treats. I attempted to pet him again which he allowed with some stiffness. Walking back through the kennels, MT was on high alert. We got to the kennel and he put the breaks on. I stepped into the kennel and he followed me in. I was able to easily remove the leash. Experienced gold. Playgroup 6/20/25: Mike Tyson had good greetings, interested in the dogs but would tense up with certain dogs. he was steerable and had a high tail in the yard. he was not interested in meeting dogs and did his own thing, avoiding most of the time Medical: ACCT Philly is located at 111 West Hunting Park Ave in Philadelphia.
