My story

Meet Dante, our big, lovable goofball with a heart as oversized as his paws! This tan and white Cane Corso mix may look like a bodyguard, but he’s really just a dog-sized teddy bear who lives for attention, ear scritches, and snuggling up like he’s half his size. Dante already knows how to sit (and does it with a proud little butt wiggle) and is eager to learn more—especially if there are treats involved. He’ll need a refresher on potty training once he’s in a home, but he’s a smart and willing student. Dante came to us with a dog friend, so if you’ve got a resident pup at home, we’d love to set up a meet and greet to make sure everyone gets along. He’d also do well with kids who can handle his enthusiasm—he’s sweet as can be, just a big guy with a lot of love and energy to give. If you’re looking for a gentle giant who’s equal parts cuddle bug and best friend, Dante’s your guy. Since many of our adoptable dogs are in foster homes, appointments are highly recommended to ensure the animal you are interested in is currently at the shelter. Please call or e-mail the shelter to set up an appointment to meet and adopt! Our adoption fees include the following: all of our dogs/puppies are current on vaccinations (DHPP and Rabies if over 3 months of age) at the point of adoption, dewormed, heartworm tested and current on preventative, microchipped, treated for fleas/ticks and are spayed or neutered. Our large dog adoption fee is generally $175 + tax. Our small dog and puppy adoption fee is generally $275+ tax. Adoption fees may vary in special circumstances. Due to space limitations, we do not hold dogs. Because we are on a busy street, we require that all dogs leaving the shelter be in a carrier or on leash. All pets remain up for adoption until an approved application is processed and their adoption fee paid.
