My story

Lenox and and his littermates were born and raised in Northern Ontario and have spent most of their time outside in the company of other dogs. As a result, they are friendly but understandably shy given they haven't had any human to show them lots of love and attention. Despite a lack of socialization, there is not an aggressive bone in their bodies. They simply need time to learn that people can be trusted and that the world is a safe place. They are food motivated so with treats and given a little time, they will approach and interact with people. Their confidence will grow with patience and positive experiences. Because they have been raised in more of a rural environment, a peaceful suburban or rural home would be ideal. The noise, traffic, crowds and constant activity of a busy city could be overwhelming for them. A friendly, confident and well-socialized dog in the home would be a wonderful benefit, as they always look to each other for companionship and would likely learn a great deal by following the example of a confident canine friend. They will need adopters with a gentle hand, a kind heart and, most importantly, patience. They aren't puppies who should be rushed or expected to immediately feel comfortable in a new environment. They need someone willing to give them the time and space to decompress, build trust and discover what it feels like to be safe, loved and truly part of a family. With that patience and understanding, they have every opportunity to blossom into wonderful companions.
