My story

Roxanne was born in a small, remote Northern Manitoba community. She has spent most of her life outdoors, surrounded by other dogs and raising litter after litter of puppies. When the family caring for Roxanne, her adult pups and young puppies could no longer manage so many dogs, they surrendered them all to rescue in the hope of giving them a better life. For Roxanne, this is the beginning of a whole new chapter. Roxanne is a quiet, gentle girl who absolutely loves being around other dogs. She is shy with people because she simply hasn't had much opportunity to interact with them. She is especially cautious around men and is also shy around children, despite living in a home where children are present. Roxanne doesn't have an aggressive bone in her body. She just needs someone to show her that the world can be a safe and loving place. There is so much she still needs to learn. Roxanne has never been leash or crate trained and will need patience and guidance with house training. But she is wonderfully treat motivated, which will make learning new things much easier. A confident, friendly dog in her forever home would be a wonderful bonus, giving Roxanne a canine friend to follow as she learns how to trust the humans in her life. Roxanne doesn't need someone to "fix" her. She needs someone willing to give her time. Time to settle in. Time to learn. Time to trust. Time to realize that gentle hands, soft voices and a warm bed are hers to keep. She has so much love waiting inside that shy little heart - she just needs the right person to patiently help her let it out.
