Elphaba, affectionately known as Elphie, is a remarkably smart and playful kitten. Her intelligence shines through with electronic toys, as she quickly picks up on their patterns to conserve her energy rather than aimlessly chasing them. She loves all kinds of enrichment, including ping pong balls, wands, interactive games, and tunnels. Although she is petite, she never backs down from a playful tussle. While she can be a bit cautious at first, Elphie is a sweet girl who deeply loves affection and has a surprisingly big, loud purr for her small size. The best times to cuddle with her are right after she wakes up or following an active play session. At first glance, she appears to be a solid black cat, but when she lies in the sun, you can see beautiful, darker black stripes hidden in her coat. With her stunning looks and affectionate personality, Elphie is sure to bring a lot of love to your heart.Elphaba will be at the shelter for adoption on Thursday 9/17 from 3-7pm and on Saturday 9/19 from 10am - 4pm- Come meet her! Our kittens grow up in foster homes, so they are not located on site for walk in visits. While we do our best to list what day they will be on site for adoption hours, please feel free to call the shelter at 480-497-8296 and press # to speak to our front desk and confirm availability. Our kittens are typically in for adoption hours Thursday 3p-7p and Saturday 10a-4p.Please note that ALL dogs and cats are available to the first home that meets the dog or cat that we feel is a good match. In order to help make the best match, we do want all family members (dogs and humans) to meet any potential new family member. Our adoption center hours are: Closed Sunday/Monday; Tuesday 10a-2p, Wednesday 3p-7p, Thursday 3p-7p, Friday 10a-2p, Saturday 10a-4p. We are located at 952 W Melody Avenue in Gilbert (zip code 85233).All animals are altered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, licensed (dogs). Cats tested for FELV/FIV. Dogs tested for Heartworm. All animals are available to the first family that is a good match, and if we have more than one animal who is a good match, there will be a lottery for all matches. Note that families must have come in to our adoption center and spoken with an adoption counselor prior to any lottery (when we have lotteries, they usually occur on Saturday mornings).
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Elphaba, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
