My story

Meet Rico, a charming Chihuahua mix who is ready to find his forever family. Rico is a sweet, mellow, and generally quiet pup who loves human affection and handles easily. He is an incredibly social boy who does wonderfully with men, women, and children alike. Rico is already 90% house-trained and is fully crate-trained, meaning he respects his indoor spaces and enjoys having his own safe zone. He is not destructive in the home, though he does best when provided with plenty of his own dog toys to keep his playful side engaged. He is also an excellent travel companion who rides beautifully in the car. When it comes to other animals, Rico currently lives successfully with another dog in his home. On walks, he can be reactive on the leash-sometimes rising onto his hind legs when he sees another dog-but he displays absolutely no aggression. Because of this excitement, he simply requires slow, patient introductions when meeting new canine friends. Rico is highly adaptable and does not require a yard, making him a perfect fit for apartment living. To help him be his best self, his future family should be prepared to work on his leash manners, as he tends to pull a lot during walks. He can be a bit of a barker when excited, and his new owners will need to keep a secure hold on him since he is a known flight risk. Rico currently thrives on a veterinarian-recommended Hill's Science Diet easily digestible puppy kibble. If you are looking for a gentle, affectionate companion who balances a calm demeanor with a love for playtime, Rico might be your perfect match.
