My story

WEACT received a report about a mother dog with peeling skin scavenging through trash cans to feed her puppies. We rushed to the scene, but by the time we arrived, the mother had already disappeared, and only her puppies had been taken to the city shelter.Fortunately, we were able to take the puppies into our care, but we couldn't give up on the mother dog and her adult daughter still wandering the streets. Their deep wariness from years of street life made rescue difficult, but after countless attempts, we were able to rescue the mother. Soon after, her pregnant daughter also came into WEACT's care. WEACT gave the daughter the name Yewon, and one of Yewon's puppies received the name Maju.Overall, Maju is a confident and fearless puppy who approaches the world with curiosity and ease, even in unfamiliar environments. Despite her size, she has a big presence and happily plays with dogs much larger than herself. She is affectionate and engaging. When called sweetly, she comes running with a wagging tail, eager to connect. At the same time, she has an adorable independent side. When she is focused on an interesting scent or enjoying a treat, she may pretend not to hear you. This charming balance makes her especially lovable.Maju is looking for a family to provide safe and steady support as she continues to explore and learn about the world. As she is in an important puppy stage, she will benefit from ongoing training, structure, and patient guidance, along with plenty of affection and encouragement. Maju can thrive in a variety of home environments, with or without another dog. If there is a resident dog, a gentle and patient companion who is comfortable around puppies would be a wonderful match. Most importantly, she is waiting for a family who will grow with her, sharing everyday moments and new experiences together. Good with women: yesGood with men: yesGood with kids: yes, Maju is good with kids. Maju absolutely loves children and is very people oriented. She gets excited to greet kids and enjoys their presence.Good with other dogs: yes, Maju is very social and loves playing with other dogs. In her foster home, she enjoys running around and engaging in fun, interactive play. As she grows, her confidence is really shining through, and she brings lots of enthusiasm and energy to playtime. She would do especially well with a friendly and playful dog who enjoys active companionship and can match her joyful spirit.Good with cats: yes, Maju is very curious and interested in cats. She shows a friendly, playful attitude and often wants to approach and engage with them. She would do best in a home that can provide proper introductions and guidance when she meets a cat to help manage her curiosity.House trained: in progress, Maju is a smart puppy who is learning quicklyCrate trained: in progress, Maju is comfortable entering the crate and is getting used to spending time inside. Energy level: med/high, Maju is a lively and playful puppy with lots of enthusiasm. She enjoys active playtime, exploring her surroundings, and interacting with people and other dogs. Can be handled/touched: yes, Maju loves people and enjoys being touched. She happily wags her tail and comes running when you call her name. She is very comfortable being handled and even with unfamiliar people, does not mind being touched or picked upBarker: no, Maju is generally a quiet puppy. She may bark briefly during play, but she is not vocal overall.Flight Risk: no, but it is always recommended to double leash at the beginning to be safeFood aggressive: noCurrent food: kibbleWalks on leash: yes, Maju is currently practicing leash walks. So far, she is doing well on the leash! She can walk and run comfortably, but as a young puppy, she still shows some mild pulling at timesLeash reactive to people or dogs: no Rides well in cars: yesDestructive: noNeeds a home with a yard: preferred Needs a home with another dog: not necessarily, Maju is very social and enjoys playing with other dogs, but she can also do well as the only dog in the homeCan live in an apartment: no Please visit our website niagaradogrescue.com to learn more about this amazing pet and to see other available dogs.
