My story

Mateo is a 1-year-old dachshund mix with a big personality packed into a small, resilient body. After a serious injury that left one of his back legs beyond repair, he underwent amputation and has adapted beautifully as a tripod pup. He doesn’t let anything slow him down. Mateo gets around confidently, plays happily with other small dogs, and enjoys every bit of life he can squeeze in. He especially loves canine companions who match his playful energy. With people, he’s pure affection. Mateo is incredibly sweet, cuddly, and people-oriented—he wants to be close, curled up next to you, or gently “talking” to you in his little voice when he has something to say. Despite everything he’s been through, Mateo’s temperament is gentle and loving. He’s the kind of dog who forms strong bonds quickly and thrives in a home where he can feel safe, included, and adored. Our adoption fee is $400 and unless stated otherwise all dogs have been spayed or neutered, microchip, heartworm tested if age-appropriate and started on heartworm/flea/tick control and dewormed as as well as flown from Puerto Rico.
