My story

Help Tom & Moppet Find Their Second Forever Home! Meet Tom and Moppet, a 12-year-old bonded pair who have spent their entire lives as cherished family members. Named after the classic Beatrix Potter characters, these sweet siblings are looking for a calm new chapter together as their current owner enters hospice care. Tom (Orange Tabby): A true gentleman with a warm, sociable soul. Tom has a gentle presence and simply wants to be wherever his people are. Moppet (Grey Tortoiseshell): Tom’s devoted sister. While she is a bit more shy than her brother, she is a loyal companion who shines once she feels safe and trusted. The Ideal Home: They would thrive in a quiet, dog-free environment where they can settle in at their own pace. They are great with respectful children and are used to an indoor/outdoor lifestyle. Note: Moppet may occasionally have a stress-related litter box lapse, so she’s looking for a patient human who understands that change can be big for a little cat. Special Support: To ensure they get the best care in their golden years, a veterinary stipend is available for each cat. They are fully vaccinated and recently treated for flea allergies (their coats are already growing back beautifully!). Location: Marin County, CA Contact: Debbie Edge at Jake’s Place Cat Rescue | (415) 548-0824 | adoptions@jakesplacecatrescue.org These cats are considered a Courtesy Listing. We offer our services to help other responsible rescue groups or individuals find good homes for cats in need. We have screened and interviewed each of the individuals before agreeing to post their cats.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Tom and Moppet, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
