Penny5 years old13 poundsFostered in La Grange, NC TLDR:Housetrained, gets along with other dogs, silly, sweet, past IVDD episode, needs frequent meals Meet your future little shadow and queen of the castle She’s house-trained and also pad-trained, making her a great fit whether you’re home often or need to step away during the day. This curious, bright girl loves to explore the world around her—especially if it involves squeaky toys (balls are her absolute favorite!). Affectionate and full of love, she’s a big fan of giving kisses and soaking up belly rubs. At night, she’s happy curling up in a crate or snoozing cozily beside your bed. Mealtime is her favorite event—she’ll greet it with the cutest little happy dance you’ve ever seen! She has a fun, energetic personality—think toddler meets Energizer Bunny—but she does know how to wind down and relax. She’s smart, listens well, and already knows commands like sit, stay, and no. Bonus: she has the most adorable butt wiggle and loves burrowing under blankets like a tiny cuddle bug. She may be a little skittish at first, but give her a few days and she’ll be your loyal sidekick for life. She walks okay on a leash, may bark at unfamiliar noises (nothing excessive), and would do well either as the only dog or with other small dogs. She has shown some toy guarding from other dogs, but she’s made great progress. If you’re looking for a sweet, spunky companion with a big personality and an even bigger heart, she’s your girl Penny has volumous bile syndrome which means that she needs to eat 3 small meals plus a bedtime snack to keep from spitting up bile. Penny had an extensive dental due to the damage the bile had on her teeth and has only 8 teeth remaining. Our vet says that other than the teeth that the VBS should have no other effects on her health – her bloodwork and radiographs looked good. Penny is spayed, UTD on shots, heartworm negative, and microchipped. Last fall, she had IVDD, but fully recovered other than a very slight wobble that is barely noticable and she can run without issue. She has complete bladder and bowel control. Her new family will need to keep her at a good weight and take precautions with ramps and pet steps to keep her from jumping. ##2662583##
