My story

Meet Astro! 🌟This handsome 5-year-old tabby is ready to find a loving home where he can truly shine. Astro came to the shelter as a stray, but you’d never know it—he’s an absolute sweetheart who clearly enjoys human companionship and affection. Weighing in at a healthy 8.75 pounds, he’s the perfect size for lap cuddles or lounging nearby while you relax.Astro has been doing great here at the shelter and is reliably using the litterbox like a pro. While we’re not yet sure how he feels about other cats, dogs, or children, his gentle nature suggests he has lots of potential with the right introductions.He’s already gotten a great start on his care, including his first round of vaccines, flea and tick treatment, and dewormer. His future family will just need to continue these with their veterinarian to keep him happy and healthy. Astro will need to stay with us a bit longer for his neuter procedure, but he is available for adoption now so you can secure your new best friend early!If you’re looking for a kind, loving companion with a heart as big as the stars, Astro might be your perfect match. 💫Adoption fee: $38.60 and partially sponsored by PAWS IN LYON COUNTYCome meet Astro and let him light up your life!Dogs are $115 and puppies are $110 unless otherwise noted. All cats and kittens are $75.00 unless otherwise noted. Our system automatically updates adoptable websites every two hours. Feel free to email or call us with any questions you may have. Our contact number is 270-887-4175. The shelter is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10:30-4 and is closed daily for lunch from 12:30-1. Adoptions are done on a first come first serve basis for owner releases. Strays have a wait list.
