Deuce

My story

Deuce is a 1-year-old Boxer/Bulldog mix with a big heart and lots of love to give. While shelter life has been a little overwhelming for him, he has quickly shown staff and volunteers just how sweet, affectionate, and loyal he can be. He loves the water 💦playing fetch🎾and getting lots of belly rubs.🩵 Deuce came back to the shelter after his previous owner reported that he was an escape artist who could jump over a 4-foot wall, so he’ll need a secure yard and careful supervision to keep him safe. He can be unsure around unfamiliar people and dogs at first, but once he feels comfortable, his loving personality shines through and he’s very loving and affectionate. Although he has lived with other dogs before, we currently think Deuce would do best as the only dog in the home or with very slow, thoughtful introductions to potential canine companions. Deuce is still young and would benefit from continued structure and guidance. He walks well on a leash but can get excited when he sees people during walks. He’s looking for a loving, gentle adopter who can help build his confidence and give him the stability he deserves. With time, consistency, and love, Deuce has all the potential to become an incredibly devoted companion 🐶✨
