Meet Pretzel: A Fighter with a Heart Full of Love Ever wonder how a puppy gets a name like Pretzel? Well, let me tell you my story. I'm only three months old, but I've already seen more of the world than most puppies my age – and not the good parts, unfortunately. I spent my earliest days on the hot streets of Chicago in Summer, all alone and so scared. I don't really remember how I ended up there or what happened to my mama, but I know I was in really bad shape. When the kind people from Chicago Animal Control found me, I was a mess – and I mean a MESS. My little leg was hurt so badly I could barely walk on it, and my body was covered in open wounds and crusty scabs. The shelter folks think I might have gotten into a terrible fight with another dog, or maybe I was attacked by something bigger than me. Or maybe I got caught up in something dangerous while trying to survive on my own. The truth is, nobody knows exactly what I went through out there, but whatever it was, it was really scary and it hurt a lot. When the shelter got the call about a sad little puppy who desperately needed help, their amazing medical team jumped right in and brought me to safety. My leg was completely useless, and I was so skinny and covered in scars that they knew I needed more than just the shelter could give me. I needed a quiet place to heal, to eat good food, and to gain weight before I could have the surgery to remove my injured leg. That's when my miracle happened – an incredible foster family with a beautiful dog of their own stepped forward and said they'd take me in! For the first time in my short life, I had a real home, a soft bed, and people who made sure I ate every meal. I started putting on weight and feeling stronger, but my leg wasn't doing so well. It started getting infected, so I had to go into surgery sooner than anyone expected. And you know what? I made it! I'm now a proud three-legged pup, and honestly? Life has never been better. I can run, I can play, and I don't have that painful leg holding me back anymore. I'm healthy, happy, and so full of love for everyone I meet. I've come so far from that scared, hurt puppy on the streets. Now I'm ready for my forever home – a place where I can show my family just how much love this little tripod has to give. Three legs are all I need to run straight into your heart! Love and Licks Pretzel
