My story

Can you be the fresh start I’ve been waiting for? Hi, I’m Maverick. My life hasn’t been easy. I came all the way from Texas, where I was nearly out of time on the euthanasia list. When I first arrived in Skokie, everything was loud and unfamiliar—and honestly, it was pretty scary. But I’ve come a long way since then. Here at C.A.R.E., I’ve found some amazing dog friends and get to be part of playgroups, which I love! I’m happiest when I’m playing, moving, and learning. Agility? I’m all over it. Obedience? I’m mastering the basics and proud of it. I’m a smart, active boy who truly enjoys having a purpose. What I need now is a reliable, comfortable home—one where I can finally relax and feel safe. A fenced backyard would be amazing so I can stretch my legs and play freely. I’d also make an awesome walking or hiking buddy if you love being active too. I’ve already proven I’m a survivor. Now I’m ready to be someone’s best friend. If you’ve got a spot in your heart (and your home) for a loyal, energetic guy with a soft side, I’d really love to meet you. Always hoping, Maverick
