My story

A volunteer writes:It must have come as a shock to Chico to find himself locked in a kennel when he had a family just yesterday...Like humans, not every pet takes this ordeal lightly and peacefully....Chico did not like this a bit! He kind of almost managed how to deal with the bare necessities and now, he is  trying to figure .....us out, his caretakers. Chico hissed at me when I first met him the day after his arrival at the care center. He just stuck his head out of his 'house" and looked at me in disbelief. Few days down the line, prompted by treats and soft words, he came down his kuranda bed, sampled the Temptations and gently head bunted my hand. Chico is quite a handsome cat, relinquished as his landlord became unfriendly to pets...He comes with excellent recommendations, though and would be a sweet, well mannered, affectionate, active and playful cat good with children(he lived with two kids) and visitors. I am hoping that Chico will continue with his progress and soon will be a prime contender in the "sweetest cat" contest at the care center. Come and meet Chico at the Manhattan Care Center! What my friends at ACC say about me:I am looking for a home with a patient person.I can be slow to adjust to new environments. I prefer to take things at my own pace.Cheek and chin scratches make me so happy! Primary Color: Black Weight: 9.99 Age: 5yrs 1mths 2wks

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Chico, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
