Bella is a black and tan Dachshund and Chihuahua mix (affectionately called a Chiweenie), she's 14 yrs and a robust 14 lbs. She is spayed, heartworm negative, and up-to-date on vaccines and monthly preventatives. Read Bella's full profile and submit an adoption application, we only accept applications through our website: https://www.fawnssmalldogrescue.org/adoptable-dogs/bella Bella is a sweet and feisty beauty! Don't let her age fool you, she may be 14 but she doesn't let a number slow her down. She's an energetic lady who enjoys going for walks, which is letting her walk off some extra pounds she acquired while injured. Poor Miss Bella, when she went to the vet for her dental her foster had them double check Bella's shoulder because of a periodic limp. This poor darling had a dislocated shoulder! The silly shoulder is now back where it belongs and Bella is so happy and enjoys her walks even more. Bella is a clever girl who loves chews and squeaky toys. She does come from a hoarding case background and has a tendency to resource guard - she has been very correctable. Bella is doing good with house and potty training. She does best with a regular routine, she enjoys a yard and she'll go potty on a leash so a yard isn't required. This chiweenie likes cozy couch cuddles and soft blankets to burrow in. Bring Bella a blanket and she'll dive under it, she's the perfect TV and chill buddy. She'll find you when she wants to alert you to her needs, she'll do a huff-puff and some times a little jump. This can mean that she needs to go potty or that she wants your time and attention. Bella's new home should have adopters who are home most of the day. She thrives on regular routine for house and potty training success. She'd be okay with a doggie sibling, she'd adore being an only dog. No kids as she is still working on reducing her resource guarding tendencies. She could be placed with a dog-savvy cat, due to her tendency to chase for resources, a cat-free home is recommended. She'd do best in a home with adopters who are familiar with sassy, feisty small dogs.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Bella, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
