Peaches / Spayed Female / 6 Years / Miniature Poodle / 12 Pounds / Dogs: Yes / Cats: Yes / Kids: 13+ / Location: Burlington 📍 Hi there, I’m Peaches 🍑 and I’m ready to find my furever family! I’m a foster pup currently living with my foster pawrents and their k-9 fur baby who’s helping me learn that the world is wide, safe and happy. They are helping me decompress after the stress and trauma I lived through back at the puppy mill. Every day I get a little braver, and a little more trusting. Let me tell you a bit about myself: * 🐾 Age & Breed: I’m 6 years young, and I’m a mini poodle. I have soft, beautiful hair and soulful eyes. My foster mom says I have a cute little squiggly piggy tail, am beautifully photogenic, and have the most adorable puppy face, but really, I’m just 100% Peaches. * 🧠 Personality: I’m still very timid, shy and nervous, but incredibly gentle, smart, observant, and sweet as pie. I love quiet moments, laying in the grassy backyard, cozy naps, and ear scratches, they make me just melt. Loud noises and sudden movements still make me nervous, and I like to know where my all my exits are. I just learned what treats are! I’m not very food motivated, really I just want to be with my pack. But every day I’m learning to trust more and more. If I do trust you, I’ll army crawl for a kiss any day, but I’m not ready for full on cuddles just yet. * 🐕 Dog Friends: I get along great with other dogs! I love having a calm canine buddy around, they help me feel safe and confident, and they’re teaching me all the basics of how to be a dog. When I meet other furiends on a walk, I sniff politely, but am hesitant about new hoomans still. * 🏡 Ideal Home: I’d thrive in a peaceful home with patient, caring and loving adults who understand that I need time to warm up. I’m uneasy around young children. I’m definitely more comfy with calm female energy, and I’m not the kind of dog who’ll jump into your lap just yet. I do well in the car, as long as my floofy foster pal is sitting with me. I do very well when my foster pawrents are at work, and am very responsible when home alone. But please oh please don’t put me in a crate again. No matter how calmly we tried, it’s just not the life for me anymore. * 🚶♀️ Walks & Adventures: Considering I never even knew what a leash was, my foster pawrents say I am amazing on walks! Really I just follow them. My furry foster bro is teaching me to sniff all the good smells and watch the world go by. I still freeze up when there’s a loud noise (even as simple as a crunchy leaf) or someone is walking by us, but I look to my people and keep on wagging. Every day I’m blooming a little more, like a peach tree in spring. I’ve come a long way, and I’m ready to keep growing with someone who sees the beauty in going slow, loving deeply, and celebrating small victories. If you think we might be a match, I’d love to meet you. I promise to be your quiet companion, your loyal friend, and your sweet-hearted shadow. Lots of love, Peaches 🐶💕 Peaches has been spayed and had a dental cleaning done. She is current on age appropriate vaccines. Peaches ideal family has another dog in the home to help guide her.
