My story

All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped.  * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.Adoption fee: $700   Meet the Bug Puppies!       Born in a loving DPS foster home after their mama, Bug, a sweet Chihuahua mix, was rescued from the shelter as a pregnant stray, these six tiny adventurers have had the best start in life. They grew up safe, loved, and cared for by their mama until 8 weeks old, and now they’re ready to flutter into forever homes of their own.       Currently weighing just 2–4 lbs, these babies may be small, but they’re full of personality. Two sport especially fluffy coats, while the other four have softer medium coats—but all of them are little bundles of cuteness. Their days are filled with play, naps, snuggles, and puppy mischief.       The Bug Puppies follow a sweet routine: breakfast around 7:30 AM, backyard potty time, a few hours of play and zoomies, then nap time. By lunchtime (12–1 PM), they’re ready for another round of food, play, and snuggles. Dinner is around 6 PM, followed by backyard adventures and evening cuddles before bedtime. These pups are already learning the rhythms of family life and can’t wait to continue those routines in their forever homes.       Now, let’s meet the Bugs:       Firefly   This little spark is pure energy and joy! Firefly loves to show off her silly jumping tricks and can turn any toy— or human— into her playmate. She’s playful, spunky, and guaranteed to brighten up your days.       Junebug   Sweet as can be, Junebug thinks humans are the best thing in the whole world. While her siblings wrestle, she’d rather soak up attention and pets from her favorite people. With her lovable, people-focused personality, she’s sure to become someone’s shadow and best friend.       Ladybug   Tiny, fluffy, and a little shy, Ladybug looks like a bunny when she zooms around the yard. She may be the smallest of the group, but she doesn’t let that stop her from joining the fun! Gentle and precious, she’ll capture your heart instantly.       Grasshopper   On the calmer side, Grasshopper often prefers to sit back and watch the fun before joining in. This sweet, thoughtful boy is a snuggly little companion who loves a mix of playtime and naps. A cuddlebug at heart, Grasshopper will be a wonderful buddy for a relaxed home.       Cricket   Cricket is a funny, sweet pup who isn’t afraid to use his tiny voice to ask for attention. A little on the shy side, he sometimes hangs back when his siblings push forward— but when he speaks up, it’s impossible not to scoop him up for pets and cuddles!       Dragonfly   Fluffy, confident, and affectionate, Dragonfly loves both human attention and sibling playtime. She’s not shy about pushing forward for pets, kisses, and cuddles. Outgoing and cuddly, she’s the perfect mix of playful and snuggly.       Each Bug pup is unique, but they all share the same story: born into safety, raised with love, and now ready to spread their wings in forever homes. Could one of them be your perfect match?August 31, 2025, 3:34 pm
