Adoption fee: $500 Meet Surf 1–2 years old | 44 lbs | Husky Mix | Stockton Survivor Surf didn’t always have it easy— she was found living by the pier in the Stockton Stockyards, doing her best to keep her eight puppies safe. Thanks to a Good Samaritan and a fast-moving DPS rescue team, this devoted mama and her babies were brought to safety. Now that her pups are weaned, it’s Surf’s turn to be the one cared for— and she’s so ready to start that next chapter. Surf is incredibly sweet but still figuring out the whole “how to dog” thing. She’s a bit timid at first, but bonds quickly with her people and has all the makings of a loyal best friend. Her foster says she’s already showing signs of a silly, playful side: she loves rolling around on her bed, talking your ear off with her husky-style howls, and is starting to explore toys (fetch is still a mystery, but she’s working on it!). When she knows you and you come into the room or let her out of her crate, her tiny stubby tail does the cutest wag-wag-wag - it makes you feel special every time! She is currently fostered with a large Doodle and he's rapidly become her best bud. You can truly see how young she is when she plays with him - she has a blast! She’s housetrained, polite indoors, and loves her long walks— as long as you let her stop to sniff all the sniffs! She's excellent on leash and does not pull. Her current routine includes a morning cuddle, two long walks a day, lots of naps near her human, and the occasional goofy zoom, as well as playtime with her doggy foster bro. She loves a nap in the backyard in a patch of sun or just to lay out there and check out the butterflies. Surf is looking for a calm, patient home where she can continue to blossom. She’s a quiet, gentle soul with the cutest little bobtail wag, and she’s ready to trade survival mode for snuggles, playtime, and a lifetime of love. If you’re looking for a sweet, soulful pup who just needs a chance to be silly, Surf is ready to meet you.August 9, 2025, 10:09 am
