My story

Lincoln is lovely boy who recently arrived at our rescue. He is 8 years old and weighs 11.5 lbs. He appears to be a Yorkie Mix and has spent his life at a puppy mill. He is a little nervous, but very engaging and affectionate. Lincoln has recently been neutered and has had a dental. He only has a couple of teeth left and eats Royal Canin Adult canned food. We sometimes add a little chopped chicken or rice. He has a very good appetite and loves Benny Bully treats broken into small pieces. He is currently being fostered in a home with 3 small dogs and gets along with all of them. He will try to play with the dogs sometimes. So far there is no interest in toys. He is a good natured boy and has no behaviour or aggression issues. Car rides are no problem. He is not keen on being crated and prefers sitting in a dog seat with a seat belt. Coming from a puppy mill, Lincoln has a few challenges. He is not 100% housebroken yet or used to stairs and will need some support in these areas. We are currently working on walking on a leash. There has been no destruction when Linc has been left home alone. He sleeps in a bed on the floor in his foster parent’s bedroom at night. He does bark sometimes and a house with a fenced in backyard might work best. Lincoln would probably do well in a quiet environment. Preferably with a retiree or someone who works from home and could be with him more often than not. He really is a lovely friendly fellow and would be great company.  Another dog would be beneficial for him to mentor (if possible)    August 23, 2025, 9:56 am

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Lincoln, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
