My story

Annie Pawplin is a petite 12-year-old terrier mix, weighing just 6 pounds. Though she’s in her golden years, she still carries the spark of a dog half her age! Annie came to Shelter Hope after the heartbreaking loss of her beloved owner, who had cared for her since she was just a puppy. She spent some time in a foster home before arriving at the shelter, and it’s clear she’s always been surrounded by love. Now, Annie is settling into her new surroundings. She’s sweet, gentle, and enjoys calm companionship. She loves going on walks, riding in the car, and soaking up attention from her people. While she sometimes shakes when she’s nervous, she warms up quickly with patience and kindness. She gets along well with other dogs and cats, her foster tells us she’s potty trained. She’s not much of a barker, only speaking up when the doorbell rings. Annie recently had a dental at Shelter Hope and is doing well on daily medication for a heart condition. She’s thriving and ready to start this next chapter of her life. This lovely little senior is looking for a peaceful, loving home where she can be cherished once again. Adoptions can happen quickly so be prepared for our call, only apply for dogs that every family member in the home wants, and wait to apply until you return from your vacation. Please Keep in Mind: Due to high demand, especially for popular dogs, not all applicants will be contacted. Moreover, we may not reach out if we have already approved a family to adopt.
