My story

🌰 Meet Walnut! 🌰 This sweet 2-year-old, 70 lb Husky/Shepherd/Hound mix is as unique as his name! Standing 23” at the shoulder and about 30” to the top of his head, Walnut is a big, lovable boy with a goofy smile (literally — he tries to grin like a human, which looks wild but is 100% adorable ❤️). ✅ Neutered & healthy ✅ Vaccines up-to-date ✅ House & crate trained ✨ Training & Manners: Walnut knows his basics: sit, stay, come, leave it, paw, and go to your bed. He’s a generally good walker and doesn’t pull, though “heel” depends on his excitement level. He’s learned not to climb on furniture or wander into off-limit rooms, but sometimes his enthusiasm gets the best of him and he forgets not to jump up when greeting. Walnut is very smart, though he sometimes takes a little longer to catch on — often learning best by watching and following his brother’s lead. ✨ Social Style: Walnut is social, but also a little more selective and reserved than his outgoing brother. He likes meeting new people and dogs but tends to hang back at first. He’s most comfortable sticking close to his humans and prefers when people let him come to them on his terms. At the dog park, you’ll often find him waiting patiently by his dad’s side, or choosing just one special pup to play with. He has no food or resource guarding issues. ✨ Personality: Walnut is a loyal, goofy, and affectionate boy who truly wants to please. He can get very excited (ok… sometimes super excited 🤪), but he calms down quickly with a reminder to “sit” or “stay.” He’s happiest being near his person, whether that’s working from home or just lounging on the couch. His silly “smile” is guaranteed to keep you laughing and win your heart. 🏡 Ideal Home: Walnut would thrive best with a single person or couple who want a loyal companion by their side. He bonds deeply with his people and prefers that one-on-one connection. He does well with other dogs but hasn’t been tested with cats. If you’re looking for a sweet, loyal, slightly silly sidekick who just wants to be your best friend, Walnut may be the perfect fit! 🐶💙 📍 Location: Coral Springs, FL 📞 Contact: 206-909-5957

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Walnut, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
