Franklin

My story

Franklin came to us from a local shelter after our friends at the French Bulldog Rescue Network heard about him. This little special needs guy entered the shelter at only 10 lbs and filthy. He was likely dumped when a backyard breeder realized he had medical issues, we believe they were trying to breed for a double merle based on his coat and eye color. Unfortunately, as often happens when breeders try to get exotic colors the dog suffers. Franklin has a mega-esophagus which means the food he eats pools in his esophagus and takes longer to enter his stomach to be digested. He is on a freeze-dried food as kibble is a no-no and a raised bowl and doing much better. He may eventually need a Bailey chair to stay upright after meals but for now we have figured out what works. Like many white animals with light blue eyes we also believe he has limited hearing but don't think that slows him down any as he is a true puppy loving playtime and cuddles. He is otherwise a cuddle bug who loves playing with other dogs, sleeping on your lap and being a typical puppy. He has been neutered and we trimmed his palate to help him breathe and eat better. If you give this guy a chance he will give you tons of kisses and be your loving shadow.
