My story

Meet Bo, a 3-year-old Lab mix with a heart as big as his smile. He weighs 58 pounds and has quickly become a shelter favorite thanks to his gentle, affectionate nature. Bo was a star at our recent adoption event—he happily greeted everyone, including children, and made friends with dogs of all ages, even playful puppies. This sweetheart loves nothing more than soaking up attention, often flopping over in his handler’s lap for belly rubs. At the shelter, Bo is a polite and easygoing companion. He keeps a clean kennel, doesn’t jump up, and enjoys running in the yard. He’s also one smart cookie—he already knows “sit,” “shake,” “lay,” and “wait.” Food-motivated and eager to please, Bo will be a joy to train. Bo is heartworm positive, but don’t let that scare you. He’s already begun treatment, and Wish Bone will continue to provide treatment either through our vet or by providing medication for your vet to administer. His adoption fee is $300, plus a $15 fee for McLean County residents for rabies registration (if four months or older). He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
