My story

Meet Bandit, a 14-years-young Chihuahua/Terrier mix who weighs in at a perfect 13 pounds. This sweet and spry senior is full of personality and charm. He’s happiest when he’s following his person around, toy in tow, ready to be part of whatever’s going on. His foster mom says he absolutely lights up every time he makes eye contact or hears someone talking to him, tail wagging like crazy in pure joy. Don’t let his age fool you—Bandit still has plenty of pep in his step and enjoys being part of the action, especially if it means hanging out with his favorite humans. He’s a pretty relaxed guy overall, content to lounge near you with his cherished toy close by.  Bandit gets along well with other dogs, though he tends to prefer calm company or a little personal space from time to time. He’s tolerant of his younger foster brother but doesn’t engage in play and may appreciate a home with other older dogs—or none at all. He’s also great with his foster family’s 5-year-old daughter and would likely do well with respectful children of other ages. Whether you're looking for a quiet companion to share the couch with or a cheerful little shadow to keep you company around the house, Bandit might just be your guy. He’s adaptable, affectionate, and more than ready to enjoy his golden years in a loving forever home. His minimum adoption fee is $200 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents. He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
