My story

Otis White German Shepherd Large Senior Male   I'm Otis, a dashingly handsome White German Shepherd of 9 years.  My current family feels it would be best to place me in a new home as their 4 year old child is very afraid of me though no fault of my own.  I actually enjoy children but I am a bigger fellow at 85 pounds and I can get quite excitable which scares the little one.  A future home with children 10 years or older might be best.     I enjoy other dogs and I currently live with a medium sized female dog and we get along great.  I used to frequent off leash dog parks and play well with the dogs there too, although, time in my yard and nice walks would be my preference now.  On walks, I am always up for a meet and greet with other friendly canines.  I am free fed in my current home and I haven't guarded any items from my family or my doggie friend.  I have never had the pleasure of meeting a cat so we can't say how I would do in a home with cats.     My current family describes me as well behaved, easy to live with, and an all round sweet guy.  I am cooperative with handling by my family, the groomer, and the vet staff.  When we have visitors I will bark and hang back a bit but once they tell me not to worry I am fine with people visiting.     I have a crate set up in my current home that I can use whenever I feel like it.  I sometimes sleep in the crate with the door open.  I have the run of my house when no one is home and I do not get myself into trouble.  I am used to my humans working from home but I have also been left alone up to 8 hour stretches (with my doggie friend) and coped well.  I also enjoy a car ride.    Couple of other things about me-I have an allergy to corn so please feed me a food that does not contain corn and I am a senior fellow but I am still readily able to do the stairs in my current home.     Do I sound like the perfect match for your home?  Please fill out an Adoption Application so we can discuss our match further.     August 15, 2025, 5:00 pm
