DOB May 2, 2020 Microchipped Hi, my name is Rosalinda — but you can call me Rosie! I’m a soft, gentle soul with a shy nature and a big heart just waiting to shine. I can be easily overwhelmed at first and might find a cozy hiding spot when I arrive in a new home. But with a little time, patience, and kindness, I’ll warm up faster than you’d expect. Once I feel safe, I love gentle pets, rubbing my cheeks against your legs, and quietly hanging out nearby while you go about your day. I’m a calm girl at heart, happiest perched on a windowsill or stretched out on the floor, watching the world (and my humans) from a comfy spot. But don’t let my quiet demeanor fool you! I’ve got a playful side too — I love batting around string toys and kickers, and I’ve been known to get the zoomies when the mood strikes. I get along well with other cats and often feel more at ease when I can see my feline friends nearby. I like to hang out in the same space as them — though I do prefer that they respect my food dish. If someone gets too close to my meal, I’ll walk up and politely let them know. No fighting, just boundaries! I’m a lover, not a fighter. I have a funny little meow (and sometimes no sound comes out at all!) and when I’m asking for pets, my face might look a little grumpy — but don’t be fooled. My foster parents were confused at first too, but once they learned to read my signals, they saw how much I truly love affection. I’m currently on a journey to get to a healthier weight, so my forever home will need to work with a vet to help me continue that progress. When I arrived at the Toronto Humane Society, I had some matted fur and needed a little hygiene help. My foster parents haven’t noticed any ongoing issues, but as I slim down, I might still need occasional assistance with grooming. When I first arrived in foster care, I was one of the most shut-down, stressed-out kitties my foster family had ever seen. I didn’t eat for the first day and a half and squeezed myself into tiny hiding spots. But with a cozy cave to retreat to and plenty of patience, I slowly began to open up. I even learned how to play again by watching the resident cat! Now, I regularly ask for pets, explore the house, and enjoy spending time with my people
