My story

If you want a constant companion and a true cuddle bug, Millie is the pup for you. She is an 18-month old spayed female standard poodle mix, weighing around 42 pounds. She is sweet and loving to everyone she meets and is a very gentle soul. Millie was a stray, so her past is a bit of a mystery. We don't know much about her past but Millie can be skittish around sudden movements/loud noises.  She is very food motivated and prone to stealing food that she can gain access to, so it will be important to ensure anything that is not safe to eat is securely put away. We expect that as she settles into her forever home and starts to feel safe and secure, these behaviours might naturally start to decrease. However, she will need a bit of extra training, patience, and understanding in the beginning as she adjusts to her new life.  Millie loves going out for walks and meeting other dogs. She rarely barks but may occasionally pull on her leash to get closer to new potential friends. When meeting new dogs, she is good at listening and following directions if the other dog does not want to socialize, but is equally ready to play and have fun when given the opportunity to interact. She has perfected the initial 'play bow' to let other dogs know that she is friendly and willing to play if they are.  While Millie loves playing catch with her toys and balls, her favourite activity is doing zoomies in the backyard. Watch out, she is as fast as the wind!  With her long legs and medium-high energy level, Millie would love someone who enjoys nice long walks at a good pace. Millie would do best living in a single dog home as she craves attention and affection from her humans. She loves to settle next to you on the couch or bed and will politely ask for pets and scritches with a nudge of her nose or a gentle paw.  Millie is completely vetted, chipped, spayed, and in excellent health.  All she needs now is to find the right family willing to shower this sweet girl with love and affection in a safe and stable home. This kind-hearted girl deserves nothing but the best! More about Millie: Good with cats – unknown but believe it should be fine Good with dogs Reaction to new people: Excellent with females and children but cautious with males House trained Color: Black Activity level: Active but still loves her nap times as well Indoor/outdoor: IndoorsJuly 15, 2025, 9:17 pm

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Millie, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
