Meet Lillian – A Gentle Young Lady Looking for Her Forever Home Lillian is a 14-month-old, 14-pound Mini Australian Shepherd with a heart as soft as her fur. Rescued from a hoarding situation in rural Alabama, this tender little soul has already shown incredible resilience and grace in the short time she’s been in the city. She’s a true lady—polite, gentle, and quietly affectionate once she knows she’s safe. Life in New York is still very new for Lillian. The sounds, sights, and pace of the city can be overwhelming for a pup who grew up in a quiet, rural setting. Sudden movements, loud noises, and crowded sidewalks can make her a bit skittish, but with patient guidance, positive experiences, and a steady routine, she’s learning to take it all in stride. Her forever family should be prepared to help her continue building confidence—slowly introducing her to new situations and giving her the space to process them at her own pace. Lillian is crate trained, house trained, and walks beautifully on leash in calmer settings. She gets along wonderfully with other dogs and truly thrives with canine companionship—she would love a resident dog to help show her the ropes and provide comfort when things feel unfamiliar. She’s also respectful around cats and would do well in a multi-pet home. While shy at first, once she feels secure, her warm and loving personality shines. She’ll happily curl up beside you, quietly soaking in your presence, or follow your lead on a gentle walk. With the right mix of patience, encouragement, and love, Lillian will blossom into a loyal, devoted companion who trusts you completely. If your home can offer her a calm environment, steady support, and the time she needs to fully acclimate to city life, Lillian will reward you with gentle affection and a bond that runs deep. To apply for Lillian, visit our website (www.waggytailrescue.org) for an adoption application. It is important to fill out an application as soon as possible for consideration, and we require a complete application for you to meet an animal. We are currently unable to respond to general email inquiries as an all-volunteer run rescue. If the dog is on our website, they are still available. Waggytail Rescue CANNOT guarantee the exact age of any adoptable dog, or final size of any of our adoptable puppies. We rely on the information provided to us by veterinarians, shelters, owner surrenders and other circumstances bringing the dog into our rescue. Adoptions: adopt@waggytailrescue.org ##2476275##
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Lillian, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
