My story

**Available for Foster-to-Adopt!**  Xylo is a 2-year-old, 15-pound male Chihuahua mix from New York City! Xylo is a very affectionate, excitable pup.  He has adjusted very well during his time in East New York. Xylo enjoys long walks, playing with his people, and learning new things. He is doing well understanding “sit” and working on other obedience training. During his time with his foster family, he has been learning potty training. He stays on a leash indoors, and is taken outside to go potty every time he comes out of the crate. Xylo is still working on his leash skills. He has learned to sit at cross walks, and is practicing walking on a loose leash. He occasionally wants to pull like his life depends on it in order to pee on a tree! Xylo’s forever family will need to continue working with him to reinforce and advance the progress he’s been making. Xylo is making progress with being in his crate during the day. He will whine when there’s activity around his crate, but when everyone is calm he settles down quickly. He loves to be cozy with his foster family and can often be found with his favorite squeaky toy. Xylo is looking for an active family. He could go all day, but is catching on quickly to rest time! He would do well as an only pet or with another animal friend. We would recommend Xylo go to a home with older children or adults only. Vaccinated for rabies, DHPP, and bordetella, heartworm negative, and microchipped. Will need to be neutered. Current on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. To apply for Xylo, visit our website (www.waggytailrescue.org) for an adoption application. It is important to fill out an application as soon as possible for consideration, and we require a complete application for you to meet an animal. We are currently unable to respond to general email inquiries as an all-volunteer run rescue. If the dog is on our website, they are still available. Waggytail Rescue CANNOT guarantee the exact age of any adoptable dog, or final size of any of our adoptable puppies. We rely on the information provided to us by veterinarians, shelters, owner surrenders and other circumstances bringing the dog into our rescue. Adoptions: adopt@waggytailrescue.org ##2471929##

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Xylo, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
