My story

Name, age, breed: Kandi, Lab/Boxer Mix, approx. 3 years oldLikes: Human attention, cuddling, other dogs, stuffed animals, scratching her back on the grass, treats, a comfy couch/bed, following you around the house, snoring. Dislikes: UnknownWhat would be the ideal home? Mix of Active/Relaxed Home and an owner (or family) that would embrace being around her, and provide her with attention. She really likes being around people. Good with other cats? Not recommended. Slight prey drive. Good with dogs? YesGood with children? Uncertain, but confident she will be good based on other human interactions. May be a bit rough with smaller children under 5, based on her size and wanting to snuggle/jump on your lap. Temperament: Loving, moderately active, slightly jumpy, gentle Motivators? Very food motivated. She takes food gently from your hand.Any commands? Sit, Stay, ‘Be right back’. Confident she will learn new commands very quickly. House trained? YesCrate trained? In progress, and going well. How long will it take to settle into a new environment? 1-2 days. She is very curious and will want to check out the house immediately. She is not a shy dog. Any special needs or traits an adopter should know? •She is new to being on a leash and pulls with a lot of weight. Confident that she will learn how to walk calmly with time/attention. •She will need a bit of work to train out some bad habits, such as checking out the kitchen countertops, but very confident that she will get there fast. She is already learning ‘down’ at the moment, and it’s going well. •Good news! She wants to obey/make her human happy, and listens very well! •She has not learned fetch yet, but is slowly learning how to play with stuffed animals and does this on her own.
