My story

SPECIAL NEEDS BABY (and part of the dynamic duo of Alba and Hasil):  Alba (aka Maggie) is the sweetest girl.  Alba is a perfect kitten; soft, beautiful, sweet and funny, except she is blind.  She was pulled from a rural shelter where she would never have had a chance.  We gave her the chance, and she has run with it!  She can possibly see light and shadows but not much else.  She does not (understandably) adapt well to change but she has found her savior in Hasil, her seeing eye kitty!  He is about the same size and age, and he is so good with her.  He gives her the confidence she needs.  To see her play with him is amazing.  You would never know she is blind.  She needs him, and he is a wonderful, funny and sweet guy.  Please consider adopting these two together.  She has had a hard road in life, and he is the key to her happiness and security.  Without him she is scared and feels alone, and even though she likes people she needs her Hasil by her side.  She should probably live in a one-story home where falling off balconies or stairs won't happen.  She has visited the vet several times now to be treated and determine whether one or both eyes need to be removed.  At this time, they do not feel that is necessary although it is possible it could become necessary in the future.  Alba's doctor suggested a simple eye flush twice a week for life and Alba will come with a large bottle of the flush to get started with.    Meet Alba (aka Maggie) and Hasil by completing the online adoption application.  Get $50 off the adoption fee of a pair of kittens.  All cats are spayed/neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccines, microchipped, FELV/FIV tested, dewormed and started on monthly flea preventative.  Apply to adopt to be the first to schedule a meet and greet. All Mountain Pet Rescue (Asheville) animals are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered and micro-chipped before adoption. Please note that visual breed identification of companion animals has been proven to be unreliable, so for most of our animals we provide a best guess at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our animals as an individual and do our best to describe and place pets based on personality not breed label.
