Now’s the perfect time to adopt! I’m one of the lucky pets featured in Clear the Shelters 2025! My adoption fee is reduced by $50 through September 15! Current Location: Craigsville, VA Meet Coral Coral is a 1-year-old, 27-pound sweetheart with a soft, silky coat in beautiful white and burnt sienna tones. She has a gentle spirit and is beginning to let her playful side shine through as she settles into her foster home. Energy and Personality Coral is a thoughtful and observant girl who takes in her surroundings at her own pace. Once comfortable, she shows flashes of curiosity and playfulness that are a joy to watch. Training and Behavior She enjoys the comfort of her crate, especially when she has a favorite chew toy to keep her busy. Coral is doing wonderfully with her housetraining and has already shown great progress on leash walks. Her quiet nature makes her an easy and peaceful companion. Social Life Coral enjoys spending time in the yard where she can explore and discover new scents. She is gentle in her interactions and is opening up more each day. With time and encouragement, her playful side will continue to blossom. Special Traits Coral’s soft coloring and graceful presence make her stand out, but it is her quiet sweetness that truly captures hearts. She is both calming and endearing, a lovely balance in a companion dog. Best Home Fit Coral would do well in a home where she has patient, kind people who are excited to help her grow in confidence. A calm environment and gentle guidance will bring out the best in her, and she will reward her family with quiet devotion and tender companionship. Veterinary Care Spayed Up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations Microchipped On heartworm preventative On flea and tick preventative Dewormed This dog tested positive for heartworm disease before arriving to the rescue. Heartworm disease is transmitted to a dog through a bite from an infected mosquito producing a positive test in six months. OPH will treat the dog and provide two weeks of recovery time prior to adoption. Potential adopters will receive detailed information on the disease and their role in completing the recovery process from OPH’s heartworm coordinator. With monthly preventatives, the disease is completely preventable.
