My story

Now’s the perfect time to adopt! I’m one of the lucky pets featured in Clear the Shelters 2025! My adoption fee is reduced by $50 through September 15! Current Location: Silver Spring, MD Meet Georgia I may look like your average yellow lab mix, but trust me, there is nothing average about me. I’m two years young, about 45 pounds, and I have the kind of heart that only gets stronger when it’s been tested. Energy & Personality Inside the house, I’m queen of the couch. My energy level is blissfully low, and I am happiest stretched out nearby while you go about your day. Outside, I’m still finding my footing. Walks make me a little shy, but when I have a trusted buddy by my side, I’m braver and better every time. Training & Behavior I’m smart, I listen, and I know my boundaries. Sometimes I growl if another dog gets too close when I’m feeling unsure, but I respond quickly to a gentle “no” and settle right down. I’m not a fan of crates yet, but I’m making progress. I’m determined to learn, and I promise I’m worth the patience. Social Life Dogs? I like them. Kids? I adore them. People? They’re my favorite. I may be shy at first, but my loyalty runs deep once I know I’m safe. I’m not flashy, but I’m the kind of dog who quietly becomes your very best friend. Quirks & Special Traits My journey hasn’t been easy. I had some skin issues that left me feeling itchy, sad, and a little sorry for myself. But with good food, love, and rest, I’m healing beautifully. My coat shines, my spirit shines brighter, and I’m ready to show off the calm confidence that was hiding inside all along. Best Home Fit I need someone patient, someone who understands shy dogs and sees their worth. Give me time, and I’ll give you loyalty, devotion, and the kind of companionship that feels like home. Veterinary Care I have visited the veterinarian for my health certificate. I’m up to date on vaccinations for my age, spayed, microchipped, and on heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives, as well as worm and parasite treatments.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Georgia, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
