My story

Lolly is a love bug in the body of a 3-year-old, 24 lbs Cocker Spaniel. She came to Speaking of Dogs from an overcrowded shelter in Quebec.   When she first arrived at her foster home, she was nervous but eager for human interaction. She very quickly gained confidence to become a world class mooch of ear scratches and kisses! While she does seek attention, Lolly prefers hanging out on a dog bed or the other end of the couch for cuddling – unless her foster mom is on Zoom, when she likes to show off her good looks from mom’s lap!   Lolly currently has a 5 lb female Yorkie buddy she shares space with. She also spends time with a 60 lbs. Retriever with zero issues. Every dog on the street is a potential friend in her eyes. She’s shown no signs of aggression over food (which is her favourite thing in the world) or toys (which she turns her nose up at). An extremely gentle soul, Lolly has been excellent with children encountered on her walks. She likes to follow her foster parents around so might be best in a home with little ones who are steady on their feet. Although Lolly has not been tested with cats, she IS a copycat of other dogs’ behaviour. She would do best with a canine companion who is in tune with her easy going nature.   Walking is Lolly’s second favourite thing. She’s not high energy (once she got past her initial worries) but will walk as long and far as you are willing to take her. Should she be left behind on her human’s adventures, Lolly will go in her crate for a treat. She may bark a few times, but settles quickly. Otherwise, you won’t hear a peep out of this quiet girl. On the rare (and I mean VERY rare!) occasion, her nerves flare up when someone bends towards her too fast and she has a wee bit of bladder leakage. That’s what doggie wipes are for! All Lolly wants in life is someone to share her great big heart with, who will lavish her with love in return.    More about Lolly Good with cats: Unknown Good with dogs: Yes Good with kids: Yes, preferably older than toddler Reaction to new people: Friendly House trained: Yes Color: Golden/Auburn Activity level: Moderate Has Basic Training: Yes Indoor/outdoor: Indoor Only August 9, 2025, 11:20 am
