My story

Moose is fostered in Wayland, MI Hello potential adopters! Allow us to introduce you to Moose - our very sweet & loveable little man!  He was born either July or November of 2022, so he is approximately 3 years of age.  Moose is a red tri, bobtail, standard aussie with1 blue eye and 1 brown eye.  He is being slimmed down from a hefty 60 lbs. to a healthier 55 lbs.! Moose was an owner surrender through no fault of his own. He lived in a house with 6 adults, 4 kids, a 98 lb. dog, and also cats.  He did well with them all, but being a herding breed, all the activity of the kids brought out his herding instinct and he would "round up the kids".  This did include him getting mouthy and occasionally nipping.  Moose is now currently being fostered in a quieter home: 1 person and 2 dogs and he is doing great! He would be okay with cats that have dog experience and would be fine with another social, laid-back dog in the home. A home with kids over age 10 would be ideal.  Moose bonds very quickly and will be your shadow, your adventure buddy, your couch buddy, even your travel companion. He just wants to be with his humans for attention and affection! Because of the hectic household he came from,  he will need time to warm up to unfamiliar guests or strangers. BUT... if you offer food.....he is all for that!   He never received proper training or direction; but he has shown how smart he is in the 4 weeks he has been in foster. He sits, downs, comes, working on stay (wants to be near you), spacial awareness (likes to be close), and teaching him to play. Moose does not really do much playing with toys, but he does play with his foster brother (wrestling and chasing). Moose has done good with baths and grooming (brushing, nails). He has had a couple trips to the vet for vaccines and practice with strangers and is doing great.  Food and time are all he needs to make this boy a happy camper.  Moose seems to be a laid back, easy going with medium energy and a good off switch. He can be an alert barker but responds to "no" or "thank you" to stop. He is house trained and has free run of the house even left alone.  He does like his crate and sometimes goes in on his own.  Moose is just a funny, eager, smart, lovely boy.  If Moose sounds like your forever companion and you'd like to learn more about him-fill out the adoption application and get the process started. Hopefully, we'll be chatting and giving you all the scoop (good, bad, everything) on our handsome boy Moose! Moose is neutered, up-to-date on all vaccinations, heartworm negative, microchipped and receiving monthly preventatives for fleas, ticks and heartworms.  Proof of heartworm prevention for any current or previous pets is required to adopt from our organization.  For more information on our adoption process or to complete an adoption application, please visit our website at www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org. NOTE:  All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers so we need an approved application on file to set up a meet with a dog you might have an interest in.  Please visit our website for more information on our adoption process, our adoption fees and a link to our adoption application.  We pride ourselves on matches that work for both the dog and your family.  MASR is here for your support, advice and safety net for our dogs for the remainder of their lives.  www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org ##2461713##

If you have any questions or would like to adopt 0893 Moose, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
