0897 Mav PKA Maverick

My story

Mav is fostered in the St Louis, MO area.   Mav is the unicorn boy!  He is a 3 year old male black tri standard Australian Shepherd, born 07/04/2022, and currently weighs approximately 45-50 lbs.  He was surrendered by a family who didn't make time for him.  It was certainly nothing this wonderful boy did.   Whoever adopts Mav is in for a treat of a lifetime. He is your all American boy! A smile that belongs on the cover of a magazine, loves to play, has so much fun outside, and has so much love to give and he wants someone to give it to more than anything! He’s silly, fun-loving, super snuggly. Friendly to all humans and animals (ok except squirrels, he will tree a squirrel in 0.0738 seconds).  Mav is crate trained, house trained, and WONDERFUL with other dogs and cats.  He is very well mannered around small children too.  Mav doesn't know a stranger and believes every dog and every person is there for his pleasure.  Mav has never injured or caught any squirrels, just like to chase them in the back yard. He is somewhat smaller framed and super fast! However, he is not too big that you can’t pick up, but not too small you have to watch where you step. Perfect size! If you like to run or bike, he would be a great partner. Mav has the perfect aussie energy - he likes to be active, but has a nice off switch. He’s a pretty good balance. Mav loves to chase the ball, but still learning to bring it back. He is still working on his leash manners, so this is a bit of work in progress.  Mav does enjoy toys - he will toss them around, and play with them himself.  Mav is a ginormous lover! He is a ginormous love bug, who nuzzles his head right under your chin and just stays there against your chest.  Mav is neutered, up-to-date on all vaccinations, heartworm negative, microchipped and receiving monthly preventatives for fleas, ticks and heartworms.  Proof of heartworm prevention for any current or previous pets is required to adopt from our organization.  For more information on our adoption process or to complete an adoption application, please visit our website at www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org.
