My story

This sweet 10-year-old, 14 lb Shih Tzu mix is the definition of gentle soul. Martin is house-trained and well-mannered, Martin enjoys the simple comforts of life—napping on his dog bed (or wherever he pleases!) and quietly soaking in the company of his people and furry companions. He gets along well with both dogs and cats. He loves kids and quickly jumped on the couch to be near his foster’s 2-year old granddaughter! Martin walks beautifully on leash and has a friendly but reserved demeanor. He’s happy, quiet, and calm—though you might catch a little happy bounce when you come home, just his way of showing how glad he is to see you. He is partially blind and deaf, but don’t let that fool you—he adapts like a champ. He can hear you best if you speak in a higher pitch and will follow your shadow when you’re nearby. Martin may have a few extra years under his belt, but his heart is full of love and his gentle spirit will melt yours. Martin’s adoption fee has been sponsored. There will be a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents. He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
