NEEDS FOSTER/FOSTER-TO-ADOPT! Hermit wants to be someone’s velcro dog! Hermit is a 3-year-old, 9-lb Chihuahua who who was brought into the city shelter as a stray. Despite his curmudgeonly name, Hermit is a curious, sweet dog who loves meeting others who are slow and gentle - cuz he’s a little guy with THE cutest curly tail! He is continuing to adjust during his time in the Lower East Side. Hermit enjoys treats, walks, and snuggling and is just starting to play! He is new to leash walking, but doing really well and walks alongside you with a curiosity about everything. We are still working on “sit” and other commands…and also working on housetraining! When at home alone right now Hermit is confined to a pen. He has mild separation anxiety but quiets down soon. Hermit has been curious and friendly with other dogs on short meetings. We think he’d be great either solo as a velcro, or with another pup. Hermit appreciates downtime and active moments and is just starting to play. We are still learning about him and would recommend Hermit go to a home with adults only. Vaccinated for rabies, DHPP, and bordetella, heartworm negative, neutered and microchipped. Current on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. To apply for Hermit, visit our website (www.waggytailrescue.org) for an adoption application. It is important to fill out an application as soon as possible for consideration, and we require a complete application for you to meet an animal. We are currently unable to respond to general email inquiries as an all-volunteer run rescue. If the dog is on our website, they are still available. Waggytail Rescue CANNOT guarantee the exact age of any adoptable dog, or final size of any of our adoptable puppies. We rely on the information provided to us by veterinarians, shelters, owner surrenders and other circumstances bringing the dog into our rescue. Adoptions: adopt@waggytailrescue.org ##2483843##
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Hermit, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
