My story

Meet Nene – your long-legged little shadow and adventure buddy! This 2-year-old, 17-pound Chihuahua/Terrier mix is all legs, all heart, and absolutely irresistible. Nene came to us from a local Bay Area shelter where, heartbreakingly, she was on the euthanasia list. She was shut down, scared, and had all but given up. But just look at her now! Out of the shelter and in foster care, Nene has completely blossomed. She’s smart, eager to please, and absolutely devoted to her people. Whether she’s curling up next to you on the couch or trotting beside you on a walk, Nene is happiest just being by your side. She’s agile, athletic, and would make a fantastic walking or hiking partner. Nene loves other dogs and would thrive with a confident canine companion in the home. She’s done well with dog-savvy cats and would likely do great with respectful children over toddler age. She appears to be house trained and has clearly known love before—she just needs someone to give her another chance. She’s the perfect in-between size: not too big, not too small, and just right for snuggles or adventures. This is also the best way to submit additional documents or information. We do keep applications on file for 90days in case the dog you apply for it already adopted or not the right fit simply email us to forward your application on to another dog of interest. Our dogs are in foster homes all over the Bay Area and all adopters are required to travel to the foster home to meet. We do not have a facility. No meet and greet can happen until application is completed. Our Commitment to Our Dogs Every dog in our care receives comprehensive veterinary care, including: • Spay/Neuter surgery • Microchipping • DHPP vaccination • Flea treatment and deworming • Rabies vaccination • Any additional vet care as needed The adoption fee for this dog is $300 serving as a non-refundable donation to help cover vetting, transport, and care costs. Adoption fees may vary based on specific dog and needs.
