My story

Meet Isobel (aka Izzy)! A 6‑year‑old, 14.5 lb Shih Tzu with a heart of gold and a tail that never stops politely wagging. Izzy’s superpowers? Impeccable manners, a charmingly quiet nature, and an all-around chill personality. She gets along beautifully with other dogs and cats, and she isn’t fazed by loud noises or the hustle and bustle of an active household—she calmly takes it all in while seated primly in her favorite observation posts (often the kitchen, where the snacks live or the living room where the kids play. She’s still a bit unsure about being picked up, so she’s happiest just hanging out near her people. House training is a work in progress—Izzy currently uses pee pads because she’s shy about having an audience—but with patience and a consistent routine, she’s likely to keep improving. Her exercise needs are minimal: she adores sitting on the porch in the mornings and evenings and gently following you around the backyard to stretch her little legs. Favorite things: crunchy treats, quiet people-watching sessions, and exploring the house on her own terms. If you’re looking for a sweet, easygoing, polite little princess who will happily keep you company while you go about your day, Izzy might be your perfect match. Isobel is fostered in the Cincinnati area. Her adoption fee is $450.00. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week.
