My story

Meet Josie (JoJo): Brave, Bold, and Built for Snuggles Josie may have come from the woods with her brother Zeke; but don’t let her rough start fool you, this little girl is fierce, fabulous, and full of heart. When we received her (and her brother) she was underweight (4lbs) and afraid. She was extremely shy and didn’t want anyone near her. After a good meal and a nice bath, she began to warm up to everyone. She transformed into a love bug in no time! We were happy she bounced back fast with food, love, and a safe place to land. Now she’s a healthy, confident pup who’s ready to take on the world or at least her brother in their nightly lucha libre matches. Josie is the definition of a firecracker, she’s curious, brave, confident and always down to play. She is not afraid of anything! She’s the first to explore, the first to pounce, and the first to cannonball into your heart. She recently discovered the joy of swimming and surprised everyone by loving her splash time in the pool! Once Josie’s worn out from adventuring, she transforms into a total cuddle bug. She’ll nuzzle up for long naps and loves being close to her humans. Her brindle coat is absolutely stunning, and her big expressive eyes say it all; she’s spicy, sweet, and smart as a whip. She’s doing great with potty training she goes right to the door when she needs a potty break and she will also let you know but doing a light whine. She’s also trained to push through a magnetic screen. She’s crate comfortable, and has been introduced to the leash in the backyard. She’s a fantastic eater and learns quickly, especially when rewarded with love or snacks. Like any pup her age, Josie does like to chew, so supervision and chew toys are a must. Due to her brave nature and high energy, she’ll do best in a home where she can get lots of playtime, stimulation, and snuggles. Josie loves other dogs and children! She has not been around cats as of yet. Josie is ready to bring her bold heart and playful spirit to a forever home that will cherish her unique blend of sass and sweetness. ***PLEASE NOTE*** This pup has not yet been altered and requires an extra $100 spay/neuter deposit. JCAPL will pay for the procedure at a partner clinic and once completed, the deposit will be refunded to the adopter. However, a non-local adopter is required to pay for the spay/neuter at their own veterinarian by a specific date. After proof of the procedure is provided, $50 of the adoption fee will be refunded with the deposit. *** Are you interested in adopting this dog or another JCAPL pet you have seen? You'll need to start by completing an adoption application, available online at our website: www.jcapl.org. There is no obligation to adopt by completing an application, however, we do recommend submitting an application as soon as you find an animal you are interested in. We review applications in the order they are received. Completed applications can be submitted online, or sent via email to adopt@jcapl.org, faxed to 919-300-5524 or delivered in person by visiting us at one of our adoption events on Saturdays at PetSmart in Garner’s White Oak Shopping Center. We will contact you as soon as possible once we receive your application. *** Thanks for thinking adoption! ***

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Josie, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
