My story

Meet Zeke: Your New Adventure Buddy and Nap-Time Snuggler Zeke came to us after being found in the woods with his sister, underweight and a little unsure of humans. At just 6 lbs, he was timid and cautious, but it only took a few hours for this sweet boy to show his gentle, affectionate side. Now weighing around 14 lbs, Zeke has blossomed into a confident, playful pup with a heart of gold. Zeke is a brindle beauty with a soft, expressive face and the most soulful eyes. He loves to explore the outdoors, play with other dogs and kids, and wrestle with his sister (especially during their evening “WWE matches”). But after all the fun, Zeke is a world class napper who will happily curl up in a cozy dog bed or better yet, snuggle up on the couch with you for some cuddle time. He’s doing great with potty training and already goes to the door when he needs to go out. He also tends to whine when he has to go potty, so he’s basically letting everyone know he needs a bathroom break! He’s even learned how to push through a magnetic screen door like a little genius! Zeke is working on his crate training and navigates our outdoor stairs ease. He’s been introduced to a leash and has taken a few strolls around in the backyard. Zeke has also taken a dip in the pool a few times while being held, he doggy paddles away! Like most puppies, Zeke loves to chew, but he responds well to redirection and quickly learns what’s okay and what’s not. Due to his love of exploring and occasional chewing, Zeke will do best in a home that’s puppy prepared, with some patience, supervision, and lots of love. Zeke is playful, smart, affectionate, and incredibly sweet. He’s a perfect mix of adventurous and snuggly, and he’s ready to find his furever family who will continue to help him grow and thrive. ***PLEASE NOTE*** This pup has not yet been altered and requires an extra $100 spay/neuter deposit. JCAPL will pay for the procedure at a partner clinic and once completed, the deposit will be refunded to the adopter. However, a non-local adopter is required to pay for the spay/neuter at their own veterinarian by a specific date. After proof of the procedure is provided, $50 of the adoption fee will be refunded with the deposit. *** Are you interested in adopting this dog or another JCAPL pet you have seen? You'll need to start by completing an adoption application, available online at our website: www.jcapl.org. There is no obligation to adopt by completing an application, however, we do recommend submitting an application as soon as you find an animal you are interested in. We review applications in the order they are received. Completed applications can be submitted online, or sent via email to adopt@jcapl.org, faxed to 919-300-5524 or delivered in person by visiting us at one of our adoption events on Saturdays at PetSmart in Garner’s White Oak Shopping Center. We will contact you as soon as possible once we receive your application. *** Thanks for thinking adoption! ***

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Zeke, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
